I think the reason we chose not to use one goes back to our

class we had in July. The instructor is one of their best, very informative, personable and experienced enough to relate to anyone who comes to class and provide facts and motivation. He mentioned almost in passing that he thought loaders weren't necessary and we took it from there.

I spent over an hour reviewing manual mag loading videos online before we went to our first practice after our first classes so I wouldn't be as obviously inept at hand-loading. I've gotten pretty smooth at it now, but the loader will be interesting. It's great to hear experienced gun owners weigh in positively on the loaders. Thanks!
